Special preparation in specialized fields of musicology, composition-theory, performance, and music education. Course Information: 0 to 4 undergraduate hours. 0 to 4 graduate hours. Approved for Letter and S/U grading. May be repeated to a maximum of 16 hours. Prerequisite: Senior or graduate standing in music or music education; consent of instructor.

Special Instructions:

Meets Summer 2A. NOTE: This course will meet June 21-June 25. The course offering is 1-3 variable credit hours and requires concurrent enrollment in the Paul Rolland String Pedagogy Workshop. At the workshop you will learn the acclaimed, ground-breaking playing and teaching principles and techniques of Paul Rolland from world renowned pedagogues. For more information, visit https://publish.illinois.edu/paul-rolland-workshop/. This course will situate Rolland pedagogy within the broader traditions of string pedagogy and music education. For 2021, the course and the Workshop are entirely online.
