EPS 590 SSO - Advanced Graduate Seminar - Sociology of Sports
Seminar in educational policy studies; sections offered in the following fields: (a) history of education; (b) philosophy of education; (c) comparative education; (d) social foundations of education; (e) philosophy of educational research; and (f) historical methods in education. Course Information: Same as EPOL 590. 4 graduate hours. No professional credit. May be repeated in the same and separate semesters to a maximum of 8 hours.
ONLINE STUDENT SECTION. This course is intended to cover various important discussion points surrounding the Sociology of Sport. A traditional perspective on Sport is that it is a field where people from different racial groups, social class, and culture join together to participate in a meritocratic setting. However, this class critiques the social, political, historical and economic impact of Sport in U.S. society.
