Description:
A continuation of the materials presented in MUS 464. Allows the students to look both forward and backward to explore jazz music's unfolding in the twentieth century, beginning roughly in 1945 and continuing to the present. Looks at music and its creators using recorded music, film transcription, theory, and various other analytical and media techniques. Course Information: 3 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: Prior musical knowledge and training preferred but not required. Consent of instructor.
