Examines the nature of public opinion in contemporary American politics. Considers the extent to which public opinion is organized by ideology, values, party identification and other group-related identities. Will analyze both the sources and consequences of public opinion and the nature of public support for democracy and democratic institutions. Will investigate the relationship between public opinion and policymaking. Course Information: Prerequisite: PS 101.
