MUS 499 C - Proseminar in Music - Intro to Contemp Approaches

Special preparation in specialized fields of musicology, composition-theory, performance, and music education. Course Information: 0 to 4 undergraduate hours. 0 to 4 graduate hours. Approved for Letter and S/U grading. May be repeated to a maximum of 16 hours. Prerequisite: Senior or graduate standing in music or music education; consent of instructor.

Special Instructions:

Continuation of MUS 499C from the previous semester. Intermediate synthesis, sampling, and audio processing techniques using SuperCollider, including modulation synthesis, waveshaping, granular synthesis, FFT techniques, custom signal processing effects, and various large-scale project considerations. Instructor permission required.
