FSHN 249 ONL - Food Service Sanitation

Description:
Examines the dangers, costs and prevention of foodborne illness as well as the training and motivation of food service employees in sanitary food handling and quality assurance practices. Upon completion of this course, student will be eligible to apply for the food service sanitation certificate issued by the State of Illinois. Course Information: Credit is not given for FSHN 249 and FSHN 349. Prerequisite: FSHN 101 and FSHN 232, or consent of instructor; MCB 100 and MCB 101 recommended. Course should be taken concurrently with or prior to FSHN 340. Class Schedule Information: Self-paced.

This on-line course has one required class meeting: last class/national certification exam. Priority registration is given to Dietetics and Hospitality Management majors. Open to FSHN majors and minors at the beginning of Sophomore registration. Open to all majors at the beginning of Freshman registration.
