This course focuses on the teaching of foundational mathematical concepts in prekindergarten, kindergarten, and the primary grades. Pre-service teachers will learn the value of "mathematizing" the worlds of children and creating authentic experiences through which children learn key mathematics concepts. Course Information: 3 undergraduate hours. 3 graduate hours. Prerequisite: Completed or concurrent enrollment in general education requirements in mathematics, admission to the Early Childhood Teacher Education Program. Early Childhood Education majors only. Must be taken concurrently with CI 420.
