ACE 398 FP - Seminar - Financial Planning Review
Group discussion on a special topic in a field of study directly pertaining to subject matter in agricultural and consumer economics. Course Information: Approved for Letter and S/U grading. May be repeated to 3 hours in a semester, up to a maximum of 12 total hours. Credit is not given for more than a total of 12 hours of Independent Study (IND) courses applying to a degree in ACES. Prerequisite: Junior standing and consent of instructor.
This course will provide students with an intense review of core financial planning topic areas with the goal of preparing students to sit for the FINRA SIE, FINRA Series 65 and CFP- Exams. The course will prepare students to take professional exams by reviewing exam strategy as well as providing a critical overview of financial planning fundamentals, ethics, time value of money, education funding, risk management, investment, estate planning, retirement planning and income tax. All students should have taken at least three core financial planning courses (ACE240, ACE345, ACE346, ACE440, ACE444, ACE445, ACE449, ACE398RM, ACE398EP or FIN230) prior to registering. Students are required to login and use Moodle/Learn (learn.illinois.edu ) in order to complete this course.
