Special Instructions:
Leadership is comprised of many components. One of which is having conversations that may be uncomfortable over topics that are controversial. This course will cover a wide range of topics that will provoke thought, understanding, and interactive discussion. The course has four main objectives. First, this course will equip students to critically analyze difficult issues from multiple viewpoints. Second, this course will develop students- ability to articulate well- considered opinions in a non-threatening way. Third, this course will raise awareness of the importance of nuanced and respectful conversations around difficult issues. Lastly, this course will grow students- empathy for others who hold opinions that deviate from their own.
