Special preparation in specialized fields of musicology, composition-theory, performance, and music education. Course Information: 0 to 4 undergraduate hours. 0 to 4 graduate hours. Approved for Letter and S/U grading. May be repeated to a maximum of 16 hours. Prerequisite: Senior or graduate standing in music or music education; consent of instructor.
Special Instructions:
An advanced practicum in audio recording including studio microphone techniques, classical/concert microphone techniques, recording session management, audio editing, and advanced mixing, production, and mastering techniques. The course will be presented as a practicum with students recording a variety of instruments and ensembles in the studio, in concert venues, and completing mixing projects of recording sessions. Recording outside of class time will be assigned. Restrictions: Music Tech students or permission of the instructor.
