Description:
Introduction to database technology concepts and architecture. Explore data types and reading/writing database layout descriptions. Discussion of database ethics and privacy concerns. Comparison of different database systems a user might encounter including RDBMS, XML/RDF/JSON, NOSQL, and Graph database systems. Labs involving common database tools and exercises in SQL. Course Information: Prerequisite: IS 205, or CS 101, or CS 105, or CS 125, or ECE 120, or permission of instructor.
