IB 546 AB - Topics in Ecology & Evolution - Grad Student Reading Group

Campus: Urbana-Champaign

Description:

Speaker seminar series featuring discussion, review and critical analysis of general concepts and specific problems in ecology and evolution. Course Information: Approved for both letter and S/U grading. May be repeated.

Special Instructions:

Topic: Plant-fungal interactions - a functional trait perspective. Fungi mediate many key ecological interactions that determine plant community composition, ecosystem productivity and drive biogeochemical cycling. Recent work has begun to apply function-based classifications to fungi facilitating trait-based analyses of fungal diversity, and providing insights into compositional variation across fungal communities surveyed using metagonomic approaches. In this group we will select a paper on these topics to read and discuss each week. Discussions will be held via Zoom.
