Behavior of composite materials and their use in engineering structures: behavior and properties of the constituent fibers and matrices, micromechanical predictions of composite properties, anisotropic elasticity, behavior of composite laminae, and classical lamination theory; fracture mechanisms, failure theories; behavior of composite plates and beams. Course Information: Same as AE 428 and TAM 428. 3 undergraduate hours. 3 graduate hours. Prerequisite: AE 321, CEE 300, ME 330, or MSE 206.
