JOUR 200 B - Introduction to Journalism

Discussion of the history, freedom, technologies, ethics, and functions of the news media. Training in clear, descriptive writing techniques, using journalistic models.

Special Instructions:

A limited number of seats will continue to open throughout early registration and into August. Should the course be full when attempting to register, it is suggested that students "favorite" the course through the Course Explorer and request email notifications from the system about open seats. They often become available through the 10th day of courses. Please note: This section will be taught asynchronous (no live sessions). Deadlines will be set, but students work through the course at their own pace within those deadlines. Entire course, including the final exam and project, will be managed through Compass. Students may see the syllabus for details. Students may not enroll in JOUR 200 and JOUR 210 (formerly J 400) in the same semester.
