Special Instructions:

Agronomic Nutrient Management: Overview of the principles of soil fertility, plant nutrition, and nutrient management in agroecosystems. Students will understand (1) fundamentals of nutrient cycling in soils, (2) essential plant nutrients, including their uptake by and function in plants, (3) common fertilizers and fertilization practices, and (4) profitable and environmentally responsible nutrient management. Practical aspects of nutrient management, including interpretation of soil tests and development of fertility management plans, will be emphasized.
