ENG 360 - Topics in English Studies - Topic:IntlPerspectvs/SkinColor

Open to majors and non-majors, the course focuses on topics relevant to English Studies. Credit may be earned in several sections of 360, but students must study a different topic in each section. Course Information: Prerequisites: C in ENG 102 or equivalent.

Special Instructions:

Prerequisite: ENG 102 with 'C' or better or equivalent. Students will engage in an interdisciplinary exploration of the ways that skin tone impacts personal, psychological, social, economic, and political realities around the world. Taking an intersectional approach to this topic, students will also reflect on how complexion influences one-s experience of gender, class, sexuality, race, and ethnicity in various contexts. Following careful study and thoughtful discussions of readings, films, songs, artworks, and social media content, students will design and create projects that represent their own unique perspectives.
