Special Instructions:
This course is an introduction to technologies, terminology, and skills used in the world of data networking. Emphasis is on practical applications of networking and computer technology to real-world problems. Prepares students for entry-level jobs as a networking technician and prepares them for learning more advanced topics in networking. Specific topic coverage includes Introduction to Computer Networks, Network Hardware Essentials, Network Topologies and Technologies, Network Media, Network Protocols, IP Addressing Network Reference Models and Standards, Network Hardware in Depth, Introduction to Network Security, Wide Area Network Essentials, Network Operating System Fundamentals, Network Management and Administration, and Troubleshooting and Support.
