This course begins with a general overview of the mathematical and statistical techniques used in data mining. The focus then shifts to six content areas: data preprocessing, visualization, predictive modeling, association analysis, clustering, and anomaly detection. The goal of the course is to provide the student with a basic foundation in the field of data mining. Prereq: 275 or equivalent. Requires Departmental Approval
