Liberal and Integrative Studies
Curriculum: Students take an entry course (Graduate Colloquium, LNT-501), and as part of the process of this course they define their discipline and a course of study to achieve mastery in it. They put together a plan of academic work to achieve their goals, and assemble a committee (including at least three graduate faculty from UIS) to work with them and approve their plan. Each studentís curriculum is different. All students must take at least 3 credit-hours of independent study, complete a capstone course (Liberal and Integrative Studies, LNT-521) for 3 credit-hours, and produce a masterís thesis or project (4-12 credit hours).
