Admission Requirement(s):

54 hours of lower division college credit in general education and foundation requirements (See pre-requisites below).

A preferred G.P.A. of 3.0 or above. 2.0 is the minimum G.P.A. for entry into UIS as a transfer student.

A letter of intent explaining the studentís educational goals and preparation for online learning. The letter should also provide rationale for entry into the online (versus the campus program) because of distance, work or caregiving issues that are incompatible with regularly scheduled class offerings.


General Education Requirements: Online students may satisfy general education requirements in one of three ways:

    1. An associate of arts, associate of science or associate of arts and science from an Illinois community college.
    2. Completion of the Illinois articulation initiative core curriculum. See http://www.itransfer.org/IAI/gened/ for details.
    3. Completion of UIS general education courses (presently available only on campus).

Foundation Courses: Online students should satisfy foundation requirements through transfer credit. Only courses with * are currently available online at UIS.

Introduction to Financial Accounting*
Introduction to Managerial Accounting*
Calculus, Business Calculus or Finite Math
Introduction to Microeconomics*
Introduction to Macroeconomics*
Introduction to Psychology or Sociology

*Accounting or Economics pre-requisite courses are usually available online through UIS and may be completed during the first year of enrollment in the online BBA program. Contact BBA Online Coordinator for details (see contact information below)
