Admission Requirement(s): Currently, formal application to both the University and the program is required for admission. Students should submit the application materials to the UIS Admissions Office (One University Plaza, Springfield, IL, 62703):
UIS application requirements can be found at http://www.uis.edu/admissions/admreq.html

Program Entrance Requirements To apply to enter the online Mathematics (MAT) Program, students must have:

  • A grade point average of 2.00 or higher on a 4.00 scale from an accredited college or university
  • Completion of three semesters of calculus but admission may be granted without these being completed, as long as they are done before any class which requires them as a prerequisite
Courses taken to satisfy matriculation requirements are not counted as part of the 60 credit hours of upper-division work needed for graduation. Students may begin work toward a degree before matriculation into the program, but matriculation should be completed before the last 16 semester hours of MAT courses needed for graduation.
