The Survey Research Methods online certificate program will teach expertise in designing and conducting surveys, managing survey data collection projects and analyzing survey results.
The program will offer a series of high-quality courses to meet the following goals:
- Provide a basic knowledge of the choices involved in designing a survey, including selecting the most appropriate mode; making decisions about design elements to increase participation or data quality; selecting a sample; and writing a survey instrument or questionnaire.

- Equipping students with the skills necessary to conduct and manage a survey project (either by collecting the data oneself or when subcontracting the data collection to another agency).

- Giving students an understanding of the statistical procedures used to process and analyze survey data, including methods of cleaning data; methods for estimating and correcting for survey nonresponse; weighting of survey data; and correcting for complex sampling designs.
