The Computer Science Department at the University of Illinois offers a certificate in five different areas through the distance learning program.
Admission Requirement(s): Students who wish to apply, must meet the following requirements:
Graduated from an accredited institution with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree that would be equivalent to that granted by the University of Illinois.
The cumulative grade point average (GPA) for the last 60 semester-hours (junior & senior years) of undergraduate study must correspond to a B (3.0 on a scale of A=4) or higher. If student has advanced degrees, the cumulative GPA for each degree must also be at least a 3.0 or higher. Must complete the following courses: CS 461; CS 463;
CS 563. Each certificate requires students to complete 3 courses of 4 hours. In addition, students are required to maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher for the sequence and receive a letter grade of B- or higher in each course.
Appplication Process
Offical transcripts from your bachelor's and any other degree liste under the "Degree Information" section must be sent t our offcie along with the application before it will be processed. Student will be notified of their acceptance by e-mail. Please note the application deadlines fro the given semesters.
Application Deadlines: March 1st for Summer Semester Admission;
June 30th for Fall Semester Admission; October 30th for Spring Semester Admission
