Special Instructions:

This class will cover basic principles underlying the Web: Representational State Transfer, or REST. The basic web technologies such as the HTTP application protocol, the URI naming standard, and the XML markup language is covered followed by best practices for -RESTful- web services. Resource-Oriented Architecture (ROA), a commonsense set of rules for designing RESTful web services is introduced. You learn how to write programs to consume RESTful services. Examples include real-world RESTful services like Amazon-s S3 (Simple storage Service) and Google Maps. (Prerequisite CSC 385 or Equivalent programming skills) Contact csc@uis.edu.
