UIS Announces New Bachelors Completion Degree Online

The University of Illinois at Springfield is pleased to announce the addition of a new web-based undergraduate degree completion program and minor, the Bachelor of Arts degree and minor in mathematical sciences . Beginning in the fall 2004 semester, students will have the option of taking classes in mathematics at the UIS campus, via the Internet, or by combining the two instructional platforms to create a program of study that is customized, convenient, and cost-effective. In addition, UIS will also offer the Illinois Teacher Certification Program in post-secondary mathematics through a combination of online and on campus courses.  Interested students should direct all questions concerning the University's Teacher Certification Program (concentration of post-secondary mathematics) to Dr. Allan Cook, Chair of the Teacher Education Program; Dr. Cook can be reached at 217/206-7007. Support for the development of online programming comes to the University from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and is provided in conjunction with the University of Illinois Online , a web-based resource for information regarding the online degree programs, online courses and public service activities offered by the three campuses of the University of Illinois .
