Beyond Burnout: Building Capacity for Service and Social Change
Today, our planet depends heavily on volunteerism and nonprofit/nongovernmental initiatives to meets basic human needs. And, although working or volunteering in the nonprofit sector can be richly rewarding, often heavy demands can be placed on staff, volunteers, and board members who go the extra mile. Such heavy demands can often lead to a loss of capacity to do this loved work. We call this BURNOUT.
However, now, thanks to UICs Professional Education Department, there is a professional special course offering called Beyond Burnout: Building Capacity for Service and Social Change, designed specifically for individuals engaged in social change and service work. For more information on this course and other nonprofit management courses see
